Spend my summers playing cricket for a local team. Used to play county and regional table tennis until about 12 months ago when reffing started getting a little bit more serious than just the Sunday junior league.

This is his manifesto, I've not sat down and read the whole thing but had a brief look through it the other day.
I've been using an Icelandic coin since my trip there a couple of years back. Although one captain did smartly point out that if it landed in the fish side he was technically right with both heads or tails... nobody likes an intelligent footballer
Stopped playing football after leaving Notts County development centre. Met Howard Webb when I was a ballboy at Wembley in 2012 and decided that was what I wanted to do.
Yep, all young people are bad blah blah blah, just in it for the money blah blah blah. Tell me something I haven't heard before and try getting rid of the stereotypes when you do it!
I was out with a ref who wore his during the game, purely for the health statistics (distance covered, heart rate etc.) guess they would be helpful but wow it'd be an expensive job to fix it if for whatever reason it got broken if you got hit by the ball due to poor positioning ;)
Also note that on the far side of the field the assistant has an Everton player pass directly in front of him at the point that the original shot is taken.
Always tucked my shirt in when I played football. Always tuck my shirt in when I play cricket. Always tuck my shirt in when I ref. It's a very easy thing to do that makes you look more professional and at least makes you look like you're taking what you're doing seriously.
I've read Poll's and Halsey's books and personally think Halsey is a more likeable character, I felt most of his complaints about people were justified given what he'd been through off the field.
