    Buffon leaves his mark

Exactly and at that level, just as yesterday with the foul on Virgil, defenders being paid that amount of money should know better. That's not taking it away from a great call by Olli. Merely for the fact that it took a big set of cohonies (can i say that here??) and cool head to give it in the...

    Citee Pool then

Ah thank you! I thought so, yes that's what I meant. Wait and see then flag

    Buffon leaves his mark

Credit to Mr Oliver indeed, but if you look back at the last 2 weeks of champions league football that's what we've been shown and rightly so I believe. Felix in the first game between Liverpool and City, De La Hoz yesterday by dismissing Pep and again today Oliver! well done Sirs

    Citee Pool then

So you don't let the play continue and then get his attention when/if a goal is scored? I'm not playing dumb, I promise. Indugle me for a minute, say you flagged right away as suggested, the referee then tells you that indeed it was the defender who played it last and that you have incorrectly...

    Buffon leaves his mark

By God I'm tired of explaining to non refs why this penalty call was a great call..... My own brother who's a die hard real madrid fans doesn't see how it can be a Penalty! His words "but he was trying to get the ball!" :wall::wall::wall:

    Citee Pool then

Ok follow up question, on our level where we don't have comms. As an AR what should you do in this case? When you know Sane is in offside position but unsure who played the ball last?

    Citee Pool then

Easy, easy Ciley, i think he might have mixed it up with the "or the last 2 defenders". @NorthernLondonRef, the minute the keeper moves away and leaves defenders behind he is considered as second last defender. The laws never said anything about a keeper!

    Buffon leaves his mark

My thinking exactly my old friend..... great minds think alike eh ! Btw we will be in Estonia come August and there might be some footy tournament to sink our teeth into, interested?

    Buffon leaves his mark

I'm glad I was vindicated thanks to Mr Oliver, I gave a similar penalty this Saturday. Attacker just outside the goal area trying to control a cross when the defender coming from behind decided to shove/kick around him to get the ball. Had my doubts after the game but now no!

    Buffon leaves his mark

it's the 2 pushes/shoves in the back and then again in the chest, it is the getting so closely in your face and in such an aggressive and intimidating style, add to it definitely whatever was being said which reading their body language was most definitely abusive!

    Buffon leaves his mark

well the key word is unauthorised, i think this was put to deter the keepers from making markings that could affect the trajectory of the ball during a PK but i could be wrong.
  13. Nalbi

    Buffon leaves his mark

yes you are forbidden from making unauthorised markings on the pitch.

    Buffon leaves his mark

I think maybe just maybe Oliver was thinking this isn't a DOGSO but rather a careless foul that happens to be in the box and hence a penalty or maybe the fact that he was quickly surrounded and attacked like that got him confused. I personally don't believe it merits a red, penalty definitely!

    Buffon leaves his mark

Agreed soft or not, it is a pen! As Miley points out 4 yards away why on earth as a defender you do sth that gives the attacker anything like that!!! And I really feel sorry for Buffon, he's not that player. His rage got the best of him....

    Liverpool v Citee

Surely it is disgraceful and football should not tolerate or accept such behaviour. Rivalry, no matter how fierce, is no excuse for that! But mate, seriously as a ref I expected more from you; everytime something goes against city you come here with bizzare ludicrous ideas about conspiracy...

    Liverpool v Citee

I don't put it past City to score, especially at the etihad. That being said, Liverpool fab 3 upfront in the form they are in, I'm sure they would score at least once!

    Promotion 18/19

Sorry to hear about the injury, hope it's nothing too serious. Important thing is to pace yourself and don't rush back, get a good pre season and hit the ground running come August.
