    Red or Yellow?

I was going to type that this morning but was too lazy. It is Red but the end of the second clip shows it up close and it looks like he's sort of fallen into the back of him...weird and unfortunate but it has to be Red.

    Red or Yellow?

Looks red to me. Dogso + not attempting for the ball.

Open Age Unsure whether I was too harsh..

For me that is C2 but others on here will feel passionately that is is a clear S6. You are the referee, and if you think it was offensive, insulting, or absusive than I would support your decision. 1 out of 3 games I have someone saying something like “ref is wearing the opposition shirt”...

    Reporting Cards

TBH it has never even crossed my mind not to put them through. Must be referees out there not doing it but good to see everyone on here is on the side of good.

    Handball mess up

Deliberate or not is a tough call with many factors others have covered. Biggest issue though is you gave the HB but only a yellow - but as you said, you know it should of been red. Live and learn.

    Reporting Cards

is anyone brave enough to admit they sometime don’t put through cautions or dismissals? If so why? Every week a player or (today) manager asks me “are you going to put those cards through?” It’s usually actually quite friendly and casual - probably trying to influence. It gets me wondering if...

    shouting leave it

Yeesh. Was verbal distraction ever a DFK?? Shouts to penalise “Leave it” when said between teammates is my pet peeve and as @RustyRef says there must be referees our there giving it. Best this year was when a player was going nuts (with the ball in play) at me for not giving a “leave it”. I...

    The ref exam

From my experience the first exam gives enough basic questions to pass - things that if you don’t know you really don’t know what you’re doing. Then a few more challenging questions for “bonus” - such as obscure restarts, carefully worded Qs about offside or sanctions etc. For reference when I...

When you can’t hold it any longer........

This has been done before and think there is a string on this. Most of us are letting him go and adding the time. Per law you need a keeper. If it’s an outfield player give him permission and they play with 10nuntil he’s back. This is twice recently this has happened to a GK at a public enough...

    Assistant referees changing touchlines

All good advice above - just to add, make sure you tell the ref it’s your first time. Don’t be shy about that, he/she will help you.

    U15 game

Print and save this Swallow. Text book what to do. The dismissed player should be well gone and you don’t have to restart until they are. Don’t engage spectator directly, it never goes well - it’s the home teams responsibility....and don’t swear (but you already know that from your post)

    2 significant decisions in gsme.

Yeesh - third post tonight with offinabus. This seems like a case of you had to be there. The law is offensive, abusive or insulting language or gesture. You clearly felt like this was offensive given the surrounding. For me I would be thinking about where the language was aimed - is he...

    Sock boots....

That’s the new cool look with the low ish mismatched socks - and it’s wrong. Hoodwinked indeed. I was AR and had a big ol’ row about this with a reserve league team recently.

    Worst ever abuse (for me)

Ya in retrospect I should of just picked up and left instead of changing the shoes. Hmm now you have me thinking about failure to control the players charge. What is the burden on that being the case (as in what is a bunch of misconducts vs what is failure to control)? can the county come to...

    Worst ever abuse (for me)

What a game today. Away team was by far the most abusive I have ever refereed. They got rolled over 8-4 and I awarded 5 penalties against them - not one doubt about any of them and frankly very little complaining per incident. The last 20 disintegrated as the losing team started piling on me -...

    Extremely Late 'Challenge'

First read was yellow. Sort of text book cynical and frankly think he took some care to loop his leg around and not just go studs in. There is an argument along the lines of what @RustyRef and @HarryD are saying about it being SO late it almost something else so if it was Red you could sell it...

    Watford v Arsenal

This is why players dive. Because it works. Awful.
