    Goal? No Goal?

Thanks everyone, I could see that the keeper 'controlled' the ball with both his hands also literally milliseconds before the head of the attacker who made move for the ball whilst it was airborne connected. Real time = goal for me here although I was curious for the correct procedure.

    Goal? No Goal?

Skip to 40 seconds. It looks like the ball has been played out the keepers hands although attempt at the ball was made before keeper had it in his hands - would this still be considered in control? I honestly don't know with this one and I'm "on the fence" to an answer but you can't do that on...

    Arsenal vs AC Milan

I've seen this in Scotland before where sometimes the AAR isn't FIFA although is being tailored for FIFA nomination (from my understanding).

    Challenge after a shot

For me it depends on how late the challenge is/was and if you could consider the shot as the advantage. I'll then administer cards etc once ball is out of play similar to what you would any other advantage.

    Game on?

I thought this would have been a safety hazard as of reply #1, surely the studs aren't being accepted by the pitch and the players are sliding about like a skating rank and getting stuck in the mud?

    Game on?

Found this on a Junior (Scottish word for non-league) forum I follow. Based on some of these pictures, I wouldn't have played this game although referee seems more than happy - I guess the kitman isn't as happy! What do you think? Game on...

    Junior/Youth Conflicting colours in equipment

Game on for me if socks are matching and a match incident report to the league. We had a situation where a referee forced the home club to go buy socks or else game off - an email was sent to everyone by coordinator informing us of game on.

    Scottish derby weekend.

Love the linesman here, made it well known what the decision he thought should have been and would be good to see more taking this approach.

    Scottish derby weekend.

And I agree with this however regularly (especially in the championship games I attend) he is very quick to his cards rather than letting the game breathe - there is no eventually getting cards out which is what I was impressed with this weekend. He referee'd the game much better this weekend...

    Junior/Youth Conflicting colours in equipment

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, although sometimes league rules would allow you to decrease the length of each half. This may have also been a solution whilst waiting for the kit if your league rules allow you?

    Scottish derby weekend.

What I find interesting is in my opinion Willie took his time reacting to incidents and let the match flow rather than booking everyone in sight (that spirit of the game mechanic) and I enjoyed his refereeing more.

    Foreign Referees in EPL

I feel like we're still struggling in some aspects here in Scotland even though there has been some changes. I believe the same thing is happening again in Scotland with Thomson and Collum (Thomson hasn't been nominated for FIFA again this year) where there doesn't seem to be any rotation of our...

    Professional Referees in Scotland?

If it was premiership only (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30754145) £840 fee basically is full time. The problem is, premiership referee's in Scotland also do Championship games for £240. A restructure would probably be required in the categories or an increase in senior referee's for this...

    Throw in Signals

I do and struggle every time although thankfully I haven't pointed the wrong way (yet). My advice: keep talking to yourself in your head with the direction of the throw and signal that way when it goes out. Another piece of advice might be to keep eye contact with the referee and copy his signal...

Select Group 4th Official one day Ref the next

At least here in Scotland unless it's a "high profile" game, the fourth official is generally less experienced than the referee and tends to be the new Category 1 referee's.

    First games

Point 1 generally comes with experience - the more games you do and the more experience you get, the easier the more basic decisions will become. Point 2 is usually positioning, it sounds like you either aren't close enough or at a good enough angle which will come with experience from point 1...

    SFA badge(s)

Unfortunately only Hampden sell kits with SFA badges and specsavers sponsorship - as discussed by @jofusref your best bet is to buy one of the old SFA kits (there are a few on ebay) and remove the badges from there. They're ref 14 tops on hampdenretail for £10 each, I think it's still cheaper...
