    EFL OFFINABUS

We have a set of laws for the game but officials are clearly told to apply them differently at different levels of the game. Certainly a referee developer delivering a foundation referees course would not be advising brand new referees setting out on their referee journey to ignore such...

    EFL OFFINABUS

That happens to me on a parks game and the player suffers the consequences, unfortunately at that level of the game there are no consequences and to be honest I don’t expect officials at that level to act any differently. The players behaviour is a disgraceful show of disrespect to the official...

    Back to suits?!

I have a nice range of Hawaiian shirts that don’t fit anymore, free to a good home 🫣😉

    Head Injury (Den v Ger)

I don’t think the referee sees the player get struck by the ball. The referee’s movement has her back to that at the point of impact and her body language as the game develops gives no indication (in the clip) that she is aware the player is out for the count on the ground.

Puma Match and training kit launched.

Will it naturally follow that at the end of the current FA contract with Nike they will migrate to Puma? A big shift not just for referees but FA staff, FA Referee volunteers ( developers, coaches, observers etc) ?

Puma Match and training kit launched.

No doubt some of the Walking Football Referees will dip into their wallets and proudly wear the new kit! Not for me I will stick to what I am advised to wear and carry on wearing my Nike kits. New design, the grey trim and black ‘bib’ spoil the look for me otherwise it would have been okay.

Changes to be aware of for 2025/26 season

I think I need a bit of a limerick from Ted Rodgers to help with this and Dusty Bin as an AR! (Sorry to our younger members who have no idea what I’m rambling about)

    Utd v villa

At what point did it look clear to you please? First watch at full speed, first replay in slow motion or after a forensic type review looking at all the different angles? Just wondering, not disputing your views but putting myself in the referees boots at that point I’m giving a free kick, but...

    Season review 24/25

Just a view from another stream of football. This season saw the first referees to officially qualify as Walking Football Referees with its own FA registration. I personally delivered 10 WF Referee courses across Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffs so have had...

    Hackett vs Hooper

I just thought it was a bad pass🫣🫣 mind you I have got an eye test tomorrow

    Palace v Man City FAC

I wasn’t suggesting that you decide DOGSO on a players stronger foot, however you may consider it as part of the bigger picture . Interestingly I am delivering a Referees Course tomorrow for Walking Football Referees and of course DOGSO will be covered so the the 3 ds and a C will be spoken of...

    Palace v Man City FAC

Left footed player driving out to the right hand corner of the penalty area at pace, now needing to fetch a ball under control , defender more central just moving without the ball towards the goal line to block. Would the left footed player need to get the ball back onto his left foot or risk a...

    Palace v Man City FAC

So all the experience of those making the decision at VAR counts for nothing? All of them are wrong? Of course we can’t say they were all wrong because we don’t know what individual inputs there were. Game of opinions and it’s a subjective decision to make in this instance, one that has a number...

    Palace v Man City FAC

I know I’m in a big minority (if that can be a thing! ) just seen replays and the direction of Haaland is away from goal and defenders possibly close enough to fill the void between keeper and the goal. Hey ho , great game as a neutral , best final for years.

    Elbows or forearms?

I felt Mings clearly looked behind and was well aware of the player approaching, but we all see things differently

    Elbows or forearms?

Can anyone explain to me please the difference between the two elbow/forearm incidents in the Bournemouth/Villa and New/Chelsea games? I thought right from the outset both were worthy of red cards.

Never mind know the LOTG , it would be great if the pundits actually knew something about football!

    Abandoned game due to abuse.

Just to let all know is that it never stops. Refereeing today in a County Walking Football League. Six matches in total 3 in Premiership and 3 in Championship Over 50s divisions. Final match of the day player who hade been spoken to twice already felt he had been fouled and shouts out very...

    Liverpool vs Everton

Personally think he had ample opportunity to be away from the situation and getting play resumed. Nunez clearly off the pitch, medics arriving to treat him so let’s just get on with it.
