I qualified in 2019 aged 30.
6 years later I'm starting the new season as a L3.
Realistically I think L3 will be my ceiling. However, with the right amount of dedication both on and off the field there's no reason you couldn't push higher. We have a referee in Cornwall who's got to be in his...

First season after stepping away from FA CORE. Far more relaxed and refereed without any pressure.
A few top of the table clashes and local derbies.
By far my best (and busiest with my cards!) season to date. 💪⚽️
You wouldn't be wrong in law.
However, I wouldn't be wrong in law to sin bin somebody for saying "ref, how is that not a foul?!" Am I going to start doing that? Absolutely not.
Being correct in law doesn't always make it the best course of action!
I HAVE had the following which I doubt has happened in many games:
Sin binned a GK at Step 6, before the recent change so he came back on as an outfield player until the ball next went out.
He went up front, ball stayed in play for about a minute or so and he scored what proved to be the...
Hence why it would be foul.
Nowhere near a brutal, violent or even aggressive action in the context though. Eyes on the ball, hands just looking for a part of Saka to pull/push out the way.
No, you'll have hit the criteria via your county FA during the season. They then nominate you to the national FA and they select the referees to promote based on numbers needed
Has anyone been on a selection day for promotion previously?
What does the day entail?
No invites have gone out yet but I think I'm in with a chance and would like to be prepared!
Do you guess on match changing decisions?
We can guess at throw ins occasionally, we can guess at whether a foul has been committed occasionally. However, I'm not a believer in guessing at penalties, red cards or goal/no goal.
I don't understand how handling the ball before it hits the ground could possible give anyone an unfair advantage.
The only caution I can that's supportable in Law is for Delaying the Restart.
Response from Ross Joyce at the FA:
"Thanks for your email and for taking the time to look into this in detail.
The correct answer is a yellow card due to the deliberate nature of the player’s actions. While the ball is not yet in play, the act of deliberately handling it before it touches...
We had this question pop up on our monthly LOTG tests for L4's and I'm interested in others opinions.
The FA are adamant it should be a caution for unsporting conduct but I don't see how this is support able with the way the laws are written.
My view is that Law 8.2 states the dropball should...
That's a completely different question to thr one that you originally posed.
Changing the parameters of the scenario to suit your narrative just because you don't like my answer is weak.
