    Correct Clothing

During my inspection and warm up, I'm running around and getting caked. When I walk out of that changing room to the centre circle, we are slow and people are looking. That's the time to look presentable. I clean my boots prior to the inspection because I like to say hello to the teams and club...

Cup Appointments - Just not fair IMO

The only thing I do not agree with with Cup (county or/and non-county) is when referees who do not officiate in the leagues get those league finals. For example, a level five who regularly gets Combination (step down from supply) here is appointed to a Junior League Cup final (non-county). Yet...

    Team of 3/4 - Warm Up ...

I'll be honest with you... For junior football, I will often warm up as I do the pitch inspection. I will take a ball out with me and run around - I do so with my socks pushed down. Once my warm up is out of the way and I make my way inside for my final preparations, that's when I pull my socks...

    Correct Clothing

I always get funny looks from other referees when I turn up with kit nicely arranged. I clean and polish boots before I go out for the inspection/warm up and then I clean and polish again before going out for the game. Baby wipes work wonders for cleaning :D

Does anyone have a favourite movie quote that they say to players

Don't let go Jackkkkkkkkkk.... I often get weird looks, just as I bring down my arms from the horizontal position in the centre circle

    New Facebook Group

Too many groups already on Facebook. Problem is, you create referee groups and pages but get every Tom, Dick and Harry on their spouting crap. Whilst I'm one of those Harry's, I much, much prefer this forum... because it is made up of (I assume) referees, not players. That's what makes this...

VAR - Wellington Phoenix v Beijing BG

I don't like the fact that the referee has to run to a screen situated off the field of play to view the incident. It just looks messy. And as you say, it's important to see a variety of angles to get the full picture of the incident. Obviously this will develop as time goes on, they'll probably...

    Keeping things calm after advantage

I don't believe that @santa sangria was describing it as a flash card (card out, straight up, straight down with very little interaction)... It gives a clear and concise indication that you have made up your mind about the decision you are going to make. It also serves two other purposes: it...

    Keeping things calm after advantage

It's not a flash card Rusty. It's an early indication that a card is coming. There's a difference. I have my card out of my pocket as soon as I know that a player needs to be cautioned. It works.

    It's almost that time!

Correct - Page 74; You can't abandon... "The referee must not abandon the match if a team is reduced to fewer than seven players! Okay, here's my take on it. Blues vs red. It's a cup final and the score is 2-1 to blues. In the final play of the game, the blues keeper is sent off for DOGSO. A...

Joel Veltman throws sportsmanship out window...

Last season I had two reds straight after the final whistle as players were walking off the field. It was a bloody awful game for Behaviour; one team (who needed to win to gain promotion) were 2-0 down within twenty minutes, one goal being a clear-cut penalty. They lost 4-2 and it was all my...

Let's not turn this into a cat-fight dudes. It's merely to gauge an understanding of the KFTPM in rather challenging situations :)
