    Level 4 promotions

Quite a few of them got 6-4.

    Football Boots with removable studs

Do you not referee in winter or on a wet pitch? I can't imagine not wearing boots

    Level 4 promotions

They are good kids. They listen, work hard and apply what they are taught. They always make themselves available too, which helps. One of the new fours even failed the lotg exam and still got promoted! I think it helps being part of an academy, obviously the FA want to promote from within their...

    Level 4 promotions

Correct, three of them being below 20, each of them academy referees. They could have a promising career ahead of them so long as they put the work in. We also had a lad (22 I believe) promoted to level 3.

    Football Boots with removable studs

I've never heard of them Reuben. You can wear moldies on 3/4g pitches but I wouldn't advise wearing them on the sand-like astro turfs. Best to have different sets for each surface if I'm honest

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

I agree with the second part... But for the first part, if a player has received 2 yellow cards (dissent), he should be sent off. He shouldn't be replaced!

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

I've changed my stance on this.... I don't like it! Too confusing, two cautions and you can still carry on playing or be substituted? Good idea in principle... Absolutely rubbish wording and means of compliance. If you receive two yellows, you should be gone.

does the GK have special protection from other players

"Keeper chooses to dive head first at the ball and the feet of the attacker" If he has gone in head first with no attempt to play the ball with his hands, that's one the most obvious cases of "playing in a dangerous manner" that there is! That situation could almost certainly throw the attackers...

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

Double punishment I think. The team would have been punished enough; if a player is binned, his team (if they have anything about them) will be pretty peed off with the guy... For me, that's speaks more than a £10 fine.

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

From a conversation I've had with someone in the know... This is only for dissent. You issue a yellow card, the player must leave the field of play for ten minutes (temporary dismissal). If that player gets another yellow card for anything as per the lotg, he leaves the field of play. No he...

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

Establishment Fan boy?!?:rolleyes::rofl::rofl: Think of it from another angle other than your own... Have you ever played or managed?!? Or have you always been a referee?

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

Are you not able to multi-task? Once you bin one, this will send a message to the others. I do not think you will get as many in the bin as you think. Yes, there will be times when you have multiple people in there; but you adapt and develop a way to manage it. Initially, I agree. But you wait...

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

It just seems people are focussing more on the issues they think it can cause. You make a note and you watch your clock. If you have neutral assistants, you use them. You will have managers harping on on the touchline "That's ten minutes ref"... Just have a look at the note you made, look at...

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

Why are there alot of people on here using any old excuse they can to explain how this is a bad idea?!? It's a bloody good idea and will be easy to manage. It is a deterrent and it will work. That's with my players hat on, my managers hat and and my referees hat on. I fully endorse it. It will...

    Club Marks

Spot on; We have that exact issue at the moment with one of our newly qualified referees. Constantly being marked below 60, so he is being observed and mentored very frequently in order to bring him up to standard.

    Club Marks

Just a point on Club Marks from a League Registration Secretary's point of view... Every month I send a list of the club marks to the Referee Development Officer. He then looks at them; He is mainly interested in the Premier Division (Top division of five) marks, these have to be highlighted in...

    IFAB Meeting

Don't like withdrawing a yellow in penalty area. Like sin bin idea but it will be ridiculous as a lone referee to manage Don't like more 'entitlement' to captains over other players, not at our levels.

How has your promotion season gone?

I certainly don't disclose my marks or anyone else's marks on forums/media where I think people will see them. I only know of one referee from Cornwall that uses this forum so I'm pretty safe to talk about it with you guys. I certainly wouldn't put that information in the public domain down...

I agree with both @forest96 and @Padfoot. You will find that the majority of this forum will agree also.

    Player Name

We all have different tolerance levels and have different opinions on what is abusive, offensive and insulting. Therefore, there is no correct answer and no wrong answer, so long as you are taking action when you should.
