Am I missing something? Is it not up to the referee to decide if a game goes ahead? The Home manager should have been liaising with the away manager, the league concerned and the referee on what was going on. Obviously the ref wasn't kept in the loop and that is not right.
That is a brilliant challenge until you notice that the studs are showing on both feet and are lifted up after it. Playing advantage so Ref did see it. I think it is well spotted myself.
Maybe it is for the player who is off the field when the corner is played and he is coming back on to the pitch without permission? But the referee is signalling offside. Would be good to see where the play restarted from.
It's a question of where you put your feet when stumbling as he was. You fall forward and your legs go behind you, that is the safest option. Don't think he has any intention but to leave his mark on the player here in frustration at losing the race to the ball and he is also looking straight...
Both players were about a yard from each other and that added to the confusion for me. I was a wee distance away from both but had a clear view. All I could see was the ball hitting GK arm then the ball breaking back off to the attacker and he has an open goal. Nobody complained about the...
This happened in 2010 game where I was the only official yesterday. GK and attacker about 2 yards outside PA. GK clears but hits the attacker and ball rebounds and hits GK arm, rebounds back off the arm and onto the path of attacker. I played on as attacker was through on goal and scored. I...
Must admit I have a wee smile every time I see the word 'Unisex' in the description of a whistle on Amazon.... Female refs must be pleased. Sadly Children will need to wait a bit longer for a whistle they can use.
Speaks for itself really. In all probability had the illegal challenge not happened the player would have more likely than not have scored a goal. 'Obvious' states that evidently, he will score if he isn't challenged. That removes debates like is it obvious or not?
DOGSO is one of those terms that doesn't make sense. After a challenge, possibilities exist that we're asked to foresee in a split second. We can only predict that there will be a goal scoring opportunity. Could this player have scored had Robertson not brought him down? I think the answer is...
ooft... looking for a hijacked Thread emoji!
It's not rocket science to see why. Even at U15 the ref will be exposed to some unacceptable abuse and that is why they chuck it and that is where the shortage comes in. Why not get paid to see young players enjoy the game instead? As a new ref...
To be fair, no attacker reacted to the ball on the deck so they obviously didn't realise they could go for it. But I think you need to show your credibility in knowing what is and what isn't a free kick. Both coaches knew what the IDFK was for.
As an aside, it is quite a sight for any...
