Open Age First OA middle and MDC game

Just been given the VEO footage of the full game as well. Safe to say I'm pleased I spotted that red card as the incident looks slightly worse than I recall it being! Annoyed though because I think I over-managed with that potential second yellow, he should have walked.

Open Age First OA middle and MDC game

Game went really well. The first words that the matchday coach said after the game were “absolutely amazing” so I’m quite pleased with myself. I had quite a bit to do actually. In the end finished with 2 yellows and 1 red for violent conduct. I could easily have justified a second yellow for...

    Deliberate Trick?

If that trick isn't made, the France number 12 (and possibly 26 as well) has a decent opportunity to challenge for the ball directly in front of goal, and potentially score. I know it isn't a referees job to judge what could happen if something else doesn't, but I do believe that on this...

    Deliberate Trick?

I understand that. But I do believe that in this case it was an offence as it was clearly done to gain an unfair advantage with the ball being virtually on the goal line.

    Deliberate Trick?

I accept the opinions that for some this isn't (and/or won't be) a deliberate trick, but I believe that it is which in this case would mean an IDFK and a caution for the player who kneed the ball.

Open Age First OA middle and MDC game

Thanks mate. It's one of those where I've had both sides a few times already this season so I can identify potential problem players already (one of whom I know is suspended for the game thankfully!) and try and win them over with banter early on. I've got myself into the mindset now where as...

Open Age First OA middle and MDC game

Early update on this one. A reappointment of both ARs means I'm now working with 2 officials who I've worked with on 6 or 7 occasions already this season as a trio which will be a massive help as we know tolerance levels already so we can just focus on refereeing the game.

    Millwall Vs Stoke

It's not necessarily wrong but I would have thought the easier sell would be no foul either way (mutual holding) although with that angle it is difficult to tell if the Milwall player was actually holding the Stoke player or if it was just the way he's moved his arms due to the contact from the...

    .

This could depend on a lot of things to be perfectly honest. The investigation may well not be complete yet (it takes absolutely ages usually, in my experience often several months for more serious incidents), or they may just genuinely not be able to tell you, although I don't see why that...

Open Age First OA middle and MDC game

Cheers mate. U16s is the highest I’ve done so far, so shouldn’t be too different I’m guessing. I’ve only given a pre match once before when I had NARs on a cup semi final so I’ll try and replicate that as it worked quite well.

Open Age First OA middle and MDC game

Hi all, After putting it off for the whole season for various reasons (mostly minor injuries, but with one called off for weather), I finally have my first OA middle coming up on Saturday 22nd March. I also have a Match Day Coach coming to watch the game, which is actually really helpful...

Ending a Conversation With a Manager

This is a perfect way to learn how to deal with low level dissent. I'd say when it starts getting on your nerves, a quick "appreciate your feedback, good game, thank you and bye" should do the trick most of the time. If it doesn't, caution. You've given them a hint and they haven't taken it.

    Cards and Wallet

When I've had team sheets, I usually just confirm the name and number then flash whilst explaining/clarifying etc. When I haven't had team sheets, if it's just a standard card for a reckless challenge/red for DOGSO with no risk of confrontation etc then I'll write it on the white match card...

    Forecast Fifties: Week 30

Probably being thick here. If we get bonus 1 right, but bonus 2 wrong, we lose 5 from the bonus? Or do they cancel and become 0?

    Mass con - missed kick

Thanks all. I did try and calm the benches down and then something happened when I was dealing with them which caused all TA occupants to rush on as well. Difficult one to deal with but I suppose we learn from every experience!

    Mass con - missed kick

I was senior AR on a cup semi-final yesterday and it all kicked off just before 70 minutes right in front of me. Both sets of coaches and subs were on the pitch as well. My priority was actually getting out of the way as I was caught up in the middle of it by that point. As a result, between me...

Hibernian 2-2 Hearts (3) Newcastle 2-0 Brighton (5) Aberdeen 2-1 Dundee United (4) Man United 1-1 Fulham (2) AEK Athens 1-1 Olympiacos (1) BONUS 1: Cunha BONUS 2: Isak I'm out on a game this afternoon so won't see the Wolves lineups. This is cheeky but if Cunha doesn't play could I switch him...

    promotion pathway

Doing 5 lines is now a requirement for 7-6 from this season onwards. It’s so that they can have more experienced Lino’s once they get to Step 6 and up.
