    2026 Potential Law Changes

I remember one game (can't remember the teams) where the board had a whopping 9 on it when it was 8-0. Pointless. I know there has to be some sort of allowance but it really is unnecessary sometimes

    City v Wolves

Thought no pen was correct. He had a great game from start to finish and I hope he's back in the Prem soon

    BRA v NFO

Being pedantic, but was that not for violent conduct as opposed to OFFINABUS? He grabbed the ref's arm/pushed him and then was given an 8 match ban iirc.

    EFL referee appointments

Precisely. Apologies if I didn’t come across that way

    EFL referee appointments

Not really. He's just one of the newer National List referees for this season and that list now covers the National League as well as League 1/2 so he is still operating at his level. Probably just building up his experience

    AFCON Final

There were a lot of mass cons at the tournament seemingly. Also, for those unsure, I believe the ref cautioned a total of 5 players during the incident (4 Senegal, 1 Morocco)

    Everton vs Wolves

My thoughts exactly on the Grealish decision. Huge respect for him for having the guts to make that decision

    Everton vs Wolves

Me too, but objectively: he was superb imho. Especially considering the relative lack of experience at that level.

    Everton vs Wolves

Must say, a huge well done to Tom Kirk. Thought he had a brilliant game and it was only his 2nd PL middle. Good to see a second caution for dissent to Grealish as well. I think on some occasions that may have been 'managed' instead (especially with Everton already down to 10 before this). Fair play.

    Chelsea v Bournemouth

Just seen that, looks like shoulder and then chest to me.

    Return?

update: both games were postponed so I still don’t know 😂 I’ll try again next weekend

    Return?

Thanks all. As luck would have it, an obviously very desperate U9 manager messaged me last night. I’ll do their game on Sunday to really get back into it without having to think too much, and possibly an U12/13/14 afterwards to see how I get on. Ultimately I do love being involved in football...

    Return?

Hi all, I haven't officiated in that long I actually can't remember my last game (edit: checked and it was at the end of August). I decided to take an extended period away from refereeing as I found myself coming away from every game having not enjoyed it, even when I'd had a decent game. This...

Difficult U12 game - What to do about parents?

This is essentially accusing you of cheating. Report them

    1 each

Agreed. I had the same U16 side twice last season in cups. One game they won 10-0. The other they lost on pens after it finished 1-1. Quite the difference

WSL and WSL2 26/27 expansion - more officials...

Possibly! Only 1 relegation this year

WSL and WSL2 26/27 expansion - more officials...

It probably will mean more male officials - but even now the majority (or at least a significant proportion) are still female. One thing to note though - it's just the WSL expanding. WSL 2 is staying with 12. They are just promoting extra teams from Tier 3 to make up the numbers as if they...

    WSL- Arsenal vs Chelsea

I agree completely. I hadn’t realised she was an AR as recently as that. But really, shouldn’t they be built up a bit more than being a FIFA referee that quickly after choosing a new specialism?

    WSL- Arsenal vs Chelsea

Agreed. It was bizarre. There wasn't a single complaint from Chelsea. Surely you'd take the hint? I also thought she may be speaking with the AR but I don't think she is even looking in the same direction, and the AR clearly runs up the pitch as you say.

    WSL- Arsenal vs Chelsea

Although I agree with this, this particular referee is on the FIFA list. Surely if you are an international referee you aren't that inexperienced? Or at the very least should be doing better? (Having said this, it is an honest mistake, and I know all of us will have made a decision as bad as, or...
