I'm not sure your average punter is interested in this level of tactical insight either.
I might be very wrong on that but neither or I or Mrs L were particularly worried about the low connection and the stretch connection etc etc.
Simple footy in our house. Get it forward. Get it in the box.
Also agree the hydration breaks in a 21 degree air conditioned room were really unnecessary and both negatively affected England and the momentum they had in the opening half of the half.

The hydration breaks are there as some games needed them/will need them and to make each game the same they kept them. As for ITV's budget at least they could have brought different coloured chalk's.. Nothing like the SKY iPad etc we are used to...

There are five in stadium officials at each game, the ‘extra’ one being the Reserve AR, which makes complete sense given how long it’s probably been since any of the 4th officials actually ran the line!
Many of the officials fulfilling these roles are only at the tournament as backups and are unlikely to see on pitch action. That includes the two Kiwi officials I was fortunate enough to work with when ‘down under’, they had the delights of the Argentina game as their first outing
Even them reaching the semi-final might be problematic for him. And Letexier was good in his game too, French refereeing seems to be in a good place at the moment.
Doesn't really stop us discussing it, as with everything on social media a perfectly innocent thing gets turned into something it really wasn't.
I officiated Emma a lot, both when she was assistant at Arsenal and then manager at Chelsea, plus she lived very close to me so I've bumped into her a few times and we acknowleged each other. I can say with a high level of confidence she will not be in the slightest bit offended by the social media memes and will probably find it very funny. I would even go so far as guessing that the hydration break tactical analysis was her idea, slightly less sure about the blackboard though. And I can certainly say that if she doesn't like it she will come out and say so because that is what she does.
A lot of people don't like it, but female football pundits are becoming the experts. Not because they are more experienced or know more, but because they make the effort and prepare for the games. The likes of Emma Hayes, Selma Hunter, Lucy Ward, etc, are becoming prominent because they are better pundits than the ex-pro men.

I stand corrected. ITV. It’s a real shame because she provides some excellent insight, and it shouldn’t matter what the setting is, but we know what internet trolls are like, and the meme’s could have been avoided if one of the production team used some common sense.
