Had to happen eventually..

Munster fans pull the plug on VAR screen just before half time so the ref couldn't see a potential penalty against them.

So they made the decision in Cologne (where the Germans hold their VAR rooms).

Silly thing is, surely if VAR have called them to the screen its because they think its a foul.

Ref has a chance to see it again and say no.

But if the fans pull the plug then he has that choice removed, VAR end up making the call. Considering they thought it a penalty in first place, guess what they are going to give?

Or should it be on field decision stands?

Every competition that uses VAR will have a contingency plan of what to do if VAR goes down. Sounds like they just plugged it back in here, but if they'd cut the cable or chucked paint on it they would have to make a call on what to do.
 
The screen failed with Simon Hooper last year. There is a backup screen on the floor that he looked at apparently.

Not sure whether that would have it's own, dedicated, power source.
 
I thought somewhere in the protocol was that the R could act on the advice of the VAR without seeing it if the screen failed.
 
Makes me chuckle that in law, entering the video operation room is a red card offence.
Obviously this is generic LOTG for all countries with VAR however that is operated and I'm aware that somewhere the operation room may be closer to the stadium or in it, but the idea of a player being sent off at Newcastle for entering the operation room at Stockley Park is an interesting one.

Are they still used in stadiums in Brazil? Think i recall hearing about personnel entering the VAR room in a game.
