While I did watch the match very shortly I found it interesting that these dives were called. I am very happy they're being called, don't get me wrong. But I have a feeling that this amount of enforcement in one match is relatively new? Considering that we've seen plenty of these moments in recent games.
So what was the shift to start enforcing even more? Is it the pressure that came onto PGMOL when it came to dives within games or the "soft" tackles that are being given? As was mentioned in another thread regarding the Arsenal defensive foul committed by Jesus.
I then saw "this" clip circulating on a reddit community and noticed that quite a few people were pushing the narrative that obvious simulation should change from caution to dismissal in an effort to completely curb unsportsmanlike behavior.
Any thoughts regarding this very welcome enforcement, is it a one time thing that we're seeing due to the obvious dives, should discussions about changing the given offense happen and what would you guys like to generally see when it comes to diving?
