I play and ref it a low key, coed adult league on a field with very mediocre lights. Last night as an AR had a weird cross that bounced around and was headed (?) into the goal. Neither I nor the R could see it was a punch instead of the head. Woman who scored fessed up right away instead of going with the "hand of goddess." (And no, the R did not reward her honesty with a caution!)

My wife is struggling to understand this situation, although I explained it very clearly, as follows:
A refereeing colleague, wearing shirt and shorts as usual, was in a dimly lit field with a group of young ladies one evening. One turned to the referee and said "I used my hand, couldn't get there in time with my head" . . .
What's not to understand? 🤔😁
