Irrespective of how unnatural his arm position was did it make his body unnaturally bigger? And it so was this, or was this not, justifiable by or a consequence o,f the movement of the player in that specific situation 🙂

It was written out of law a couple of years ago. Not entirely sure it would have helped him here as there was absolutely no reason for his arm being up there, De Ligt knew immediately it would be a penalty.

I remember it changing, but I wonder why.
Under the old regulations, it’s not handball if it came off the same players head or body regardless of where the arm is.

Hojland kicking the ball away just as Van Dijk was going to take the FK, no caution given.

Can't argue with the penalty. However, we never saw any replays of the assumed Handball shout for united before the Liverpool penalty. The players were adamant it was handball. Would be good to see just for comparisons sake.

That is not correct. Go back and read the langauge and parse it out. Or go back and fine the threads on here discussing it. Many people very much misinterpreted the breadth the off-the-body “exception.”
