Can anyone define the levels that supply and contributory leagues are? Google just keeps giving me the level of ref you have to be rather than the step/level on the pyramid

The Ref Stop
Is this what you’re after?
Level 1 referees (level 1) do EFL leagues 1, 2 and NL Prem (step 1)
Level 2 referees do NL North and South (step 2)
Level 3 referees do Contributory leagues (step 3 & 4)
Level 4 referees do Supply leagues (step 5 & 6)

Supply and contributory leagues are legacy naming conventions the FA are trying to remove these from the vocabulary and refer to each level of ref by step now e.g. step 3/4 for level 3s

Historically, Supply League referred to Steps 5-6 of the pyramid.

Contributory Leagues referred to Step 4-3 (Southern, Northern and Isthmian Leagues plus the top division of the Eastern Counties way, way back).

It was once explained to me that these names arose because the Northern and Southern Leagues contributed teams to the Football League (by election), and the levels below supplied the Contributory leagues.

The Conference (now National League) and it’s subsequent north and south divisions were a bit of an anomaly as they came in later as additional levels between the Football League and the other 3.

That's the opposite of what I'm after haha

I was after the names/levels on the pyramid of the supply and contributory leagues are

Yeah I know the system etc but I don't know what step/level supply or contributory are. Like what leagues are supply leagues and what leagues are contributory
Step 5/6 has replaced supply
Step 3/4 has replaced contributory.

The link @FirsFox40 has supplied shows the leagues that operate at each step.

You are going to have to do a little bit of it yourself...

Before the restructure of a few years ago there were some Step 5s that were ref'd by level 3s, some step 7s by level 4s and some Step 6 that could be ref'd by Level 5s/6s.

Step 5/6 has replaced supply
Step 3/4 has replaced contributory.

First year in reffing, just wanted a bit of help understanding from fellow, more experienced and knowledgeable referees. I understand the step system, just didn't know which steps were previously known as supply/contributory.

Appreciate the clarification 👍🏾

This was exactly what I was after, I didn't understand it earlier so apologies for that and thank you for your help
