Goalkeeper DOGSO

Similarly I had a DOGSO red card at the weekend where the attacking player was not in control of the ball at all, in fact he had not yet touched the ball, but it was passed through towards him by a team mate, the goalkeeper was stood near post and the attacker stood far post, the only defender was on the floor and as he realised the ball was going past him he knocked it away from the path of the attacker with his hand. For me, this has to be DOGSO, but it doesn't tick all of the boxes...

He doesn't have to have touched or be in control. It sounds like your example would meet that consideration by "likelihood of... gaining control of the ball"
