Fleetwood v Wycombe

A round red sometimes sits more comfortably in the back pocket.

And Fleetwood keeper has had a ‘mare.

The Referee Store
Not seen/heard it but if the refs second yellowed for calling the AR a "cheating cnut" then its the wrong colour card and should not be given credit for showing yellow rather than nothing

its same as seeing a punch to the face and going yellow for aggressive rather than red for v/c

if the words used are as quoted, its a red card.
Thats not dissent, so a yellow card is incorrect, regardless of whether the player will be leaving the park anyway

job half done am afraid, either do it properly, or, erm,?

the "he is going off anyway" notion can be used on an amber tackle, where you might you red, you might go yellow, but, you should not be showing a yc when the offence in question merits a red!

agree with this. I know as referees the match outcome is irrelevant, but if somehow Fleetwood turn this around, that wrong card would now make him available for the final in what should actually have been a 3 match ban

No idea what the outcome would be, as technically yes, he would be sent off anyway but if i was Fleetwood, there is nothing to lose by appealing
If he has been sent off for his comments and they are as quoted, then, dissent is the incorrect sanction.
If you are sending someone off for DOGSO and thats your report, if its found DOGSO was wrong, yet the tackle was SFP, then thats irrelevant, the DOGSO is appealed, the player is free

Can't appeal a yellow card, though. So by going yellow means he has no chance of appealing and having it overturned if a panel deemed the comments not to be offinabus
Edit: not saying it is right BTW. But if neither official found it offensive, insulting or abusive (unlikely!) then it can still be dissent as it is still disagreement or protest at a match officials decision

My bad, its a free for all here in Scotland, anything can be appealed
I would still be saying, my player has been dismissed wrongly in law.
