Interesting Referee Comments

I am not sure what he was not seeing there. Clear PK all day long especially at that level. I agree, glad I am not the worst in the world!

Come on guys. Criticise the decision. But leave the person out of it. We get enough from players managers and media.

I'd hazard a guess and suggest that Mr.Gozubuyuk decided that, as the ball was already well out of the way by the time the contact was made, it was a 'fair' challenge for the ball. At the time the goalkeeper jumps towards the ball, it is in a position where he could have expected to reach it, had the other player not interfered - that's my guess.

It's certainly a late challenge, and the goalkeeper has literally flattened the lad, but I can sort of see why the referee might have thought it not a penalty at the time. I think it's probably a careless challenge, penalty, no card myself.

Didn’t we have one of these in England at the end if last season, also not given?

Deffo pen for me
For some reason, if the ball has (just) gone, goalkeepers and defenders get the benefit of the doubt for late challenges, even though this has no basis in the LOTG. (see Zouma on Lacazette yesterday and also:
)

That's a shocker. How is it not a penalty?

You dont even need to be a referee to see that's a foul, in fact, you dont even need to see the actual incident

if someoene told you there was a through ball, the striker got to it first and then the striker was comatose, you could work out the rest in your head

reminds me of this...which at the time, folk seemed surprised it was given....15 secs in
