Open Age Genuinely not sure what I'm doing wrong (or is it just me??)

First of all mate, well done. Sounds like you've handled most of that really well - it just won't feel like it because I would imagine nobody else there had the foggiest idea of what good refereeing looks like. As described it sounds like the majority of your decisions were spot on and it's...

    Junior/Youth U13 game OFFINABUS gesture

But they're not "adult consequences" - they're football consequences. If the authorities who dictate the rules for youth football have decided that OFFINABUS (action/words/gestures) is a red card offence, then as a referee our job is to give a red card. There are situations where we can work...

    play on or retake?

This is the new level of story telling I want from every situation retelling from now on. My condolences to you on the contents, but the execution was flawless

Junior/Youth Keeper going down with 'private area' injury?

In that case probably go with option A to be safer, but appreciate that in the heat of the moment it can be difficult to see everything going on. Ultimately it's down to you as the referee, but with this one I think you could go either way and justify it.

Junior/Youth Keeper going down with 'private area' injury?

If the ball has entered the goal before stopping play and you don't feel a foul has been committed, then the goal stands. As I've read your post, it sounds like the goalkeeper lies down around the same time as the shot? In that case I don't think you have much chance to stop play which is...

"I've never heard the word obvious used in Denying a Goal Scoring Opportunity before" - Gary Lineker Regardless of if you think it's a red card or not how can that be allowed as a standard to criticise a decision?!

    Football now vs past

I'm finding myself watching the Premier League less and less, but I'm getting more and more invested in the championship and league one (soon to be league two) and just how crazy they are

    4th match. First 11 a side.

First things first - fair play and well done!! Fair play for being able to reflect on your performance and take positives as well as constructive criticisms (sounds silly but it's genuinely really important to do both) Well done on your first 11-a-side game!! The fact nearly all of them came...

    Dealing with chronic dissent

What were the captains like? Were they moaners too? Empathise with you having had a couple of games recently where I've felt exactly the same as you. In hindsight I wish I'd been quicker on to it but it's not always easy to find "the moment" to get the first sin bin out. Perhaps it's the sort...

    Brighton v Brentford

Said something about intent being taken out of the laws a few years ago so not able to be reviewed (can't remember the exact words). But the law definitely says "regardless of whether contact is made" so surely has to be considered potential VC?
