    Violent conduct??

Defender is shadowing the ball out from the attacker, they are in contact with each. The ball runs out of play and the 2 of them end up chest to chest and then the defender leans in with his head, only for a split second and it was only a lean in, no force. Would you give a red for violent conduct?

    Always getting grief

Hi all, some advice/tips on constant complaining... It just seems as the match goes on both teams are in my back, to the point where if I give a foul and a free kick they then complain that they wanted to play advantage, just seems I can't win, and I lose credibility as the game goes on also...

    2 penalty shouts

Hi all Had. A college game today. 1st half - Away team attacker into the box, 1 and 1 with keeper, gets his shot off and then the 2 of them come into contact and both end up in a heap on the floor. Shot goes wide, I give a goal kick explaining that he got his shot off and the momentum of the 2...

Difficult U12 game - What to do about parents?

Hi everyone I covered a U12 9 a side game this morning for my son who was ill (I normally do 11 a side) and found it quite annoying how much the kids shouted and questioned everything from throw ins to penalty appeals and then talking between themselves saying we know we aren't going to...

    Dissent from players and coaches

Hi all My son (16 yrs old) reffed a u12 game on Sunday and he said from the first whistle both managers and players were shouting and claiming for everything all game. He said it's the worst game he's done. I know we say we have tools to deal with that sort of stuff but 2 things sprung to...

    Lots to do about nothing

Hi all I know you will all say you can't comment without seeing the incidents but the last games I've done have been quite scrappy. By scrappy I mean challenges like both players running side by side arm out, but if grabbing, both sides shouting for a foul and I'm thinking 6 and 2 3's for me...

    1st game as a AR

Hi everyone I've got my first game as a AR for u16 district game this weekend. Problem is I can't remember much of the training we did on running the line (I only qualified 18myhs ago) So what's the basics? Do I signal for throw ins in my half but on the far side? Do I signal for throw ins...

    Argy bargy at corner kicks

What do you say when 2 players at a corner kick are having a Argy bargy in the penalty box as the kick is waiting to be taken. I see refs go in talk to the players involved, but what do you say? Thanks

    U14's - SNAP HIM!!

Sometimes I hear things like that but it's hard to pin point exactly who said it, which is frustrating. How strict are you all on it, what about get stuck in, don't let them past no matter what, don't let him go past 3 of us? Thoughts

    Time wasting at throw in

Late on the second half and team winning by one are really slow with their throw ins and then the opposite team manager starts saying that I should reverse the throw in and give it to the other team because of the time wasting. That is not a actually thing is it? I've never heard of that...

Trip/kick out as ball goes out of play

I read the situation as a trip, no excessive force, no malice sort of action, hence the YC. I don't think I could of sold a talking to only a spit it down as a careless foul on this occasion

Trip/kick out as ball goes out of play

As the title says, away team defender is running the ball out of play with home attacker hot on his heels. As they both run out of play the attacker sticks out a leg, from behind and trips up the defender. I'm my head I'm thinking VC or reckless. I didn't see any force in the kick out, just a...

    Goalkeeper handling it twice?

Goalkeeper goes down on one knee to save a daisy cutter of a shot with both hands. He pushes the ball forward with his hands, stands up and touches it forward a couple of time with his foot. Then a forward closes him down and he swoops down, picks up the ball and runs to the side of the attacker...
