I see this as almost 2 tackles. He makes the tackle and gets the ball. Sees that it didn’t do enough and raises his other leg to trip over the attacker.

On this once, for me the player put his foot in front of the ball and hence it’s not a clear and obvious error. It’s like a striker initiates contact with a player and then claimed a foul. Here the player didn’t get the ball, but put his foot to try and draw the foul.

Ball wasn’t in play so no penalty. I’m assuming you’re a city fan. ;) I also feel that the big man went down looking for it, but regardless….since the former hadn’t been taken yet, you can’t give a penalty.

Strange how the handball is more or less what people have focused on. For me the red card for violent conduct was more interesting.

Agree with first point, but not sure about handball. I think he is sliding and trying to stop his fall. I feel it would have been harsh.

I’m sure plenty of prem referees wear glasses and use contacts during the matches. Must be ok in flood lights. Well that’s my logic anyway.

Thanks. It was just all the warnings I got about water getting in your eye from the doc! Due to my prescription I had to use 30 day ones so I’m getting used to taking them in and out a bit. ;) Multifocal is just amazing tech in a contact lens. I can see at distance and I can read my ref app...

So after so many matches with glasses and any rain means I have to take them off and risk having my decisions questioned. So after advice from a match day coach, I’m now trying contact lenses. Any advice? Should I wear a cap when it rains? Take them out straight after if it rains? What’s...
