    Have you ever ...

Arriving late happened to me once before. A game at Camberley Town, I was AR. Pre match was asked to arrive at 1345. The ground was about 45 minutes away. But I hate leaving it short. Wasnt aware of roadworks or anything. Left home at 1230, grabbed a coffee from Costa en route. Got on to M25...

    WHU v LEE

Agree with that but sometimes I wonder if mindsets change with length of time left etc. If 6 mins added, going into 6th minute, are you just clearing it and/or taking it to corner etc or with 11 mins added in the 6th are you playing football of some kind due to knowing the opponents are in no...

    Josh Smith Portsmouth v Oxford

Im not sold on red. I've not seen the previous 18 or so minutes so dont know the temperature of the game (commentator, in one video seen, said something like he needs to get control of the game). Its reckless. Definitely. Serious foul play? No quite sure. Only good thing i like about it was...

    WHU v LEE

Just like half the Hammers did at the ground. Difference being is you could to back and watch, they couldn't.

    Atletico v Barca VAR

But isn't it VAR that fans have an issue with? As in, they think theyre missing loads of stuff within VAR and not helping the ref.

    Atletico v Barca VAR

I understand that, but its the same people who run both.

    Hated AR

Reason wasn't abandoned was explained (to the fa) as a safety aspect.

    Atletico v Barca VAR

Yet fans want European refs as they're supposedly better

    Hated AR

As said, was very much last minute of the entire game. It was felt safer for the AR to get the players back on the pitch, get them away from AR so he can "escape" safely during the distraction of restarting. It was felt that if abandoned at that point it would have put the AR in more danger...

    Hated AR

Other than advice already given, not much more to add. Tell him to watch you, your actions/reactions to any potential incident and to take his time. I only add the last part as I was assistant on my dads last ever game (he was middle). It was sunday league that, at the time, had enough refs to...

    USA v Belgium kit clash

Not necessarily. You realise when players look up and see black, they could well be thinking team mate, pass, and then realise theyve made a mistake.

    USA v Belgium kit clash

Had a game, Sunday morning league, where home team had an approved kit of yellow and black stripes but a plain black back. Their numbering was an outline of white. Amount of complaints I got from their own team passing to me because I was wearing black and it confused them.. said tough...

    Ref across different FA/League

I stayed in Bracknell and then moved to Bedfont. I initially stayed with BBFA before moving to Middlesex FA where I done games in the Surrey Youth League. As long as you send disciplinary info to correct FA you should be fine. Lots of leagues on boundaries understand that refs locally could be...

    Germany v Ghana

I only saw one step, his right foot which he uses to balance himself when striking with left.

    USA v Belgium kit clash

I watched this and thought the exact same thing. Was really hard to tell who was who on the tv. Tried to pay more attention, I thought, to shorts and socks but then one had white shorts and black socks whilst the other had black shorts and white socks. Again, watching on tv distance it was hard...
