    Brentford v Tottenham

With the new laws on throw ins, not sure if deliberate ploy or not, but I noticed that Collins was being a nuisance with the Tottenham players forcing Michael Oliver to stop the restart a few times to "have a word", cut it out etc.... This meant that Kayode had "extra" time to prepare for his...

    Crewe goal

Player runs off naturally but when returning, he stops and stays off the field waiting for keeper to drop ball and pounce. Yes. The keeper should be aware of surroundings but surely there is an offence there by deliberately staying off the field and deceiving the keeper. Spirit of the game?

    The future of refereeing

I have used "you're right... i dont. But I know the laws". I have only ever used that line a couple times but in the right moment. Use it when heated and itll backfire. But generally speaking I ignore the term rules as I have from time to time used it myself.

    Spain-Argentina

You could use that argument about any rivalry (England v Germany, Man Utd v Leeds, Barcelona v Real Madrid etc) that is not directly local neighbours (Man Utd v Man City, Arsenal v Spurs for other examples)... This hatred more stems from issues such as political (Falklands) as well as the...

    Spain-Argentina

Surely this is a match thread not specifically about refereeing. Yes refereeing will be the primary talk but its a global event that as football fans we would want to talk about. To make this post about refereeing, from what I did see (missed a little of the game) I thought he had a very good...

Just seen this... (missed last half hour due to driving home from work).. This is why I actually dont like this new law/rule. Messi trying to get player sent off for touching his lips. No "prolonged" cover, not even a full cover of mouth...

Flash score has said the same

Just seen another shot of punches etc. And people called England sore losers....

Punches at the end. Hope FIFA come down on Argentina. Knowing they wont.

So 5 minutes in this additional 15 with no hydration break but just 4 minutes in the 45 with hydration break and 4 separate sub breaks of 7 players.

Could you argue that the free kick was taken and he handled it?

    Spain-Argentina

Surely the correct restart is dropped ball to keeper as ball still in area and last touch was also by a Spain player. Yes. I know Argentina were likely to gain possession but still...

Argentina doing their best to delay the 2nd half.

Not sure why the ref feels he needs to blow his whistle so much. But why did he not just play on when awarding a free kick on stroke of half time.
