    CFA registration fees

Yes I’m out there mentoring new referees, but it does need to be far better structured to be of real developmental value. Across all formats of the game.

    CFA registration fees

I think the intention will be that improved learning materials will be (or already have been) produced, those delivering the learning events will be better trained with ongoing training as well. I hope the learning involves more and definitely improved support for those newly qualified as well...

    CFA registration fees

Just had the update from county FA stating increase from £20 to £30. States the £10 increase is ringfenced to finance improved training for grassroots referees.

    FA Cup Final

What a brilliant display from the match officials, it appeared seamless to me and totally in control. 👏👏👏👏👏

Very brave decision as already stated and also very correct.

    Middlesbrough vs s Southampton

Did Shakespeare write this thread? Much ado about nothing.

    Arsenal v Atletico

I thought the referee managed the game very well throughout and that was not an easy task. Sideline histrionics ignored to a degree and probably the best way last night rather than escalate through a more proactive approach? Time taken for throws in added time was no different to time taken...

    A.Madrid V Arsenal

Through red tinted glasses. If an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick. Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed I assume that’s why the...

First 11 a side game in over 10 seasons!

Well did a second game on Sunday, again helping out my grandsons team. Better equipped this time and at least looking like a referee and properly attired😂😂 I know I shouldn’t be shocked or amazed but I had a CAR appeal for a foul throw! A quick stern look put that to bed but then much later in...

First 11 a side game in over 10 seasons!

Yesterday evening go out to watch the grandson play. Under 14s fixture, no referee allocated and this would have meant the grandsons coach having to referee , leaving no one to manage/coach the team. So with a borrowed whistle, no pen, no paper, no coin, no cards, one watch, jeans and...

Man United Vs Leeds - Hair Pulling

Where does the game go from here in respect of hair pulling? I think everyone would agree it was a deliberate grab of the hair in the first instance but what happened next is clearly up for debate, force? , finger got caught in the hair schrunchie causing it to come loose? deliberate pull of the...

How would you handle player calling the opposite club assistant 'cheat'?

So I assume as well it would be a massive over each if they called you a cheat as well?

How would you handle player calling the opposite club assistant 'cheat'?

What about the CARs who are fit and diligently applying themselves to the role to the best of their abilities and being a valuable member of your team? Would it be a massive overreach to red card a player who called them a cheat?

    Josh Smith Portsmouth v Oxford

Hell of a decision to make in real time, took me until the last view to see the issue, happy with a red card on that final viewing. Well done Ref 👏👏👏
