For me , all the forensic reviews of the Kane incident don’t change my initial thought that it looked like a penalty, smelt like a penalty and was a penalty even with the higher threshold applied to decisions in the penalty area.

As soon as he didn’t give it and he became aware of the VAR review he had the look of a man who wasn’t going to change his mind. He stated (I believe) the attacker initiated the contact!

Me too, but a few years ago now.
I always looked on those appointments as a reward for the previous season’s performances.

Thanks for that. I can understand the disappointment but as many others have pointed out here and elsewhere so many more grassroots referees have always had to purchase their own kits.
But with this and the increase in registration fees I’m interested to see the difference we see in the support...
