As soon as he didn’t give it and he became aware of the VAR review he had the look of a man who wasn’t going to change his mind. He stated (I believe) the attacker initiated the contact!

Thanks for that. I can understand the disappointment but as many others have pointed out here and elsewhere so many more grassroots referees have always had to purchase their own kits.

I’m reading that you are playing an advantage but then the advantage doesn’t accrue because of an offence committed by the team you are playing the advantage for. Hope that’s right?
So the advantage hasn’t accrued for the team through their own wrong...
Just Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. It is a few years back and I’m sure other refs were doing more games, including some youth football on Sat mornings and Sunday afternoons as well!
I’m sure you are right that the criteria for promotion impacts .
No stats to add to the conversation but I am a bit surprised about the actual number of middles being achieved by levels 5 and above, are there too many of you at those levels compared to available games or have you no connection with lower level leagues now?
I never reached those heady levels...
