I see your point, although the player's distraction results only from an inadequate knowledge of the LotG, so I'm not going to punish the player making the call for the other's ignorance.To be fair Alex the exact LOTG wording probably support the player in your example, it's referees who have decided there has to be an intent to distract.
Yes, that's why it's usually older refs that give it.It's about last weeks ref in a good way. Genuinely not their fault that they've been told it by coaches since year dot.
