When I first started work, one of the guys I used to work with was an ex steel fabricator. He always used to drill in to everyone Check Twice Cut Once. This was something that he pointed out that when your making things from scratch you need to check everything twice as otherwise if your wrong, your wasting resource and starting again.
Which is a bit of tangent to show this clip from the weekend of Mark Clattenburg realising he has forgotten his cards.
To be honest I’ve never done this and I don’t think in 20 years I have been involved in a game where the Referee has. However I can understand why it may have happened as some people will swap kits at half time for comfort. Although he should still have checked he had everything before leaving. I used to constantly check my pockets and everything had a home. This way if something wasn’t right then I would generally know in the back of my mind before it happened.
