questions re dissent

Re the above, which all seems very logical, is it a tad ironic that the fa deal with every 5th caution, where a player accumulates cautions, but then allows them another 5 and another 5 before dealing with them again, surely a decreasing scale of say 5 then 9 then 12 etc would make more sense

Dictionary definaition of dissent is 'to disagree with .......'

Any player who disagrees with me is risking a card.......however, they are entitledto their opinion so for me it is a question of how loaud and 'public' it is. There may not be a 'stepped approach' if loud and public enough and, with particualrly whiney teams, the player cautioned may be for his first dissent, but his team's fourth or fifth.

Dissent is one of those offences for which each referee must find his or her own tolerance level, and yes, it may change game by game depending on the mood of the game.
