Am I the only one baffled as to why a penalty wasn't given for handball?

Because it hit his thigh first and deflected onto his arm.
I'd be amzed to see any referee with more than a season under his belt giving a penalty.
Even the Poles appeals were half hearted

I've seen them given too but I am always more baffled when a clearly accidental contact between ball and hand is given than when it is not.
