Having a proper union, and reports like this, will change things. For referees, all the time we have diminished rights, not unlike the previous experiences of zero hours contract workers, we will continue to suffer appauling working conditions - that no proper union would allow.

None of it matters a jot however. As long as the value of TV rights keeps going up
Cynicism aside, obviously there'll be loads of fantastic people working hard in football to make things right, but I'm a firm believer that the fate of things is decided by very basic drivers. In football, money is the driver and nothing else has much influence on the outcome
