Olá from Portugal!

Hello everyone!
I'm a 17 year old student from Porto, Portugal (obviously a FC Porto fan!) and an aspiring referee. Right now I have all the documentation that the Porto Football Association requested and I'm going to hand it in the next weekend so hopefully I'll be doing the referee course this summer. I'm really excited and a bit scared as well since I'm very young and "Sunday league" fans place a lot of pressure on referees here!

Anything I should be aware before I start?

Bom dia @Gonçalo and welcome to the site,

The most important advice is to enjoy. No matter how the first match goes, it gets easier the more matches you do.
You will know more about the Laws of the game than the other players on the pitch.

In England, we try and send a more experienced person to a referee's first match, for support and to deal with unusual matters. This allows the referee to concentrate on their role.
