High card match(Old)

Was watching the sheffield blackpool match with 4 red cards (2 due to a brawl at the end). And looked up for more games like that on youtube, and stumbled across this match, nowadays quite a few of these yellow cards would be considered excessive force. What do you guys think? Also is a fairly old match.

Agreed, can pick up several incidents there where I think the yellow would be red now. Not sure when this was, and the standing and wording of the laws at the time, but I think you'd see plenty more reds now.

I remember watching this in Amsterdam on a stag do, must have been 2006, cracking game for the neutral.

It was 2006, cracking match and for all people blamed the referee he really didn't do a lot wrong.

Hmm yes Boularwhstsits should be red. But also some very soft yellows. Figo’s dive leading to 2nd yellow.

What I take away was the ref missing two mass con situations because he was head down at notebook in between players.

You must keep the players in view and not write until the situation is calm.

He wouldn't have written anything down, as there was no point in that game where the situation was calm
