U14s cup final yesterday... i'm doing the coin toss, and chatting to the captains and i'm aware that my far side assistant has crept up beside me..... i turn to him and he says very quietly.... shall i go and get the match ball?
i'd left it in the changing room along with the 3 spares !
i mentioned it after the game, and you know what? no one had noticed
