Just like the VAR in the Utd game. Bloody useless.Opinions on the penalty given for Mitylland after the offside (seemingly correct from the image provided by BT after 15 mins)
And the Mane apparent handball then Minamimo goal?
Agreed, that Greenwood penalty was awful, today was not even just poor by the officials just downright confusingJust like the VAR in the Utd game. Bloody useless.
Man utd penalty - foul by greenwood leading up to pen and then just fell over.
Maguire punched the ball into the net.
What do we expect nowadays?
With this goal... Was the offside 'error' clear and obvious? No. Stick with the onfield call surely?
Ended up with 8 mins added time in the endcame less than 2 foot from manes head onto his and the defenders arm and then the ref signalled for an indirect free kick for a handball. I think it was the refs first game at this level I’m sure I saw a referee abroad say it was, hopefully an experience like that helps him and his team improve their use of VAR as no one knew what was going on and the decisions were explained by the tv extremely poorly and late. Both ARs had a howler on the big decisions. The penalty award is flagged for offside, the attacker is two yards on. Then the Minamino goal at the end is flagged for offside on Mane, who is well on.
The VAR review was two minutes for the first event, onside on a clear foul, the second just as bad, onside and an accidental handball in the immediate buildup, these are one look reviews, not four minutes in total.

They didn't show any lines or anything to suggest it was onside. So without a camera angle that can 100% say on or off, wouldn't they just stick with the lino? Bit like Man utd at the weekend.Clear and obvious doesn't apply to offside, it is black and white you are either on or off.

Yes - I don't really see what the fuss is about with that one. They did later on and it showed that he was fairly comfortably onside.
