After an uneventful first ten minutes, I can fathom how Marriner hasn't given the Kongolo foul on Sterling. Probably won't matter after Danilo scored one helluva lucky goal, but still.

From one angle it did look like he played the ball, but from all others he got nowhere near it. That angle was similar to what the AR had, so my guess would be that he called no penalty into the comms.
 
Keith Hackett on Twitter is not impressed with the penalty decision or the 'blatant offside' for the goal. Whew.
 
Comes across as having an axe to grind - like he never made mistakes.

To be fair... People do call him out for this on Twitter for coming across as someone who would be perfect in all his decision-making. I like seeing his activity with community and charity efforts though.
 
It's a good job there's no agenda by EPL refs not to give a penalty for a foul on Sterling. In the champions league he can get one for stubbing his own toe in the ground.
