Great perspective. I would be very wary of what Referee did this and certainly would never make a blanket allowance. I am not even sure if I can or would do it.
If ever this was to be done, lots of additional safeguarding would be put in place to protect the Referee.
If an U15 game has no Referee as they haven't turned up, can a qualified 15 year old ref stand in with the agreement of both teams?
I know they should only Referee teams 2 years below them, but would a competent 15 year old Referee be a better option that a Manager or parent Refereeing the game?
I found out after my U18 match yesterday, which was assigned to me by my league, that one of the teams was not yet affiliated. This means that I am unable to create a fixture, so I cannot record cautions or file an extraordinary report on the match. I have e-mailed the League Secretary and...
I'm interested where this definition has come from. In the LOTG the definition is:
Public protest or disagreement (verbal and/or physical) with a match official’s decision; punishable by a caution (yellow card)
I abandoned a match yesterday, which was a first and in my first season. The reasons I abandoned the game were as follows:
Officials refusal to leave the pitch area of being sent off
Taking into the highly charged atmosphere, I did not feel I would be able to control the match and player...

I am very comfortable with my performance, and not concerned about whether his comments are correct or not.
However I feel if I do not report it, this manager may feel that it is...
Do not be nervous about the exam. I did it a couple of months ago. I read the LOTG a few times and got 100%. Others I don't think had even glanced at the book and still passed.
Multiple choice
I think around 40 questions
I think you need to get around 66%
You won't fail if you read LOTG a...
In the youth league I coach in, if your team are losing by 4 clear goals, you are allowed to add a player. The extra player is then removed if you it get it back to 3 clear goals or less.
Works very well.
I have refereed 4 adult games now and one part of my game I am finding difficult is sliding tackles and when to give a foul, especially when the player has 'got the ball.'
I cannot see any mention of getting the ball in the LOTG. Any advice would be appreciated.
That has helped make it clearer as to why it could be a red. I can also understand why only a yellow would be given by some on here based on the description of VC in LOTG.
