The Ref Stop
I'm very confused... what is the first red card shown for?!

The yellow for the keeper should be a red in my opinion. Although the ball is going wider than I'd like, it's an empty net with no covering defender's at the time of the foul.

That was first class viewing, and good to see female footballers can be d1ckheads too!

On the basis the attacking player was comfortably getting the ball with the chance of a shot there and have a shot at an empty net it's DOGSO RC for me, albeit our angle is better.

I'm not sure anyone really came out of that looking good (though perhaps I’m doing a disservice to the Lewes players with that comment).

The Watford players definitely seemed to have an attitude problem, maybe there was some prior history with the referee? The long, drawn-out argument after the first red card leading to a sin bin, the toddler like tantrum over the DOGSO decision, and the throwing of corner flag—all pretty poor for a professional (?) set up.

The referee seemed intent on asserting his authority in all the wrong ways. He had a noticeable height advantage over the players and appeared to think that made it acceptable to approach the dismissed player in a confrontational manner. Some might argue I’m overthinking or exaggerating, but this is the kind of behavior that only serves to escalate a situation unnecessarily—kind of like invading the personal space of a drunk in a bar. While we didn’t hear the full exchange between him and the players, it seemed like he was far too eager to engage in long-winded debates, which only made things worse. I’m not suggesting the players were innocent, but it felt like the referee wasn’t doing much to de-escalate the tension.

And then the corner flag incident, was the cherry on the cake. Watching a footballer complain about the wet ground, only to then kick the puddle —definitely a moment of irony.

Anyone else feel like the pitch inspection may have been a big lacking? I doubt Wealdstone were happy with the condition it was left in.

I would really struggle to referee women's football. I've never been remotely tempted
That's not a disparaging comment. I can't explain it, but I just couldn't do it. That ref in the footage was having a bad day!

I've reffed some excellent women's games. So good technically and an opportunity for you to work on technical aspects of your game too. Wouldn't knock it.

I'm putting plenty of blame for the 2 reds and sin bin on the refs attitude as well as the players. The non dogso is bizarre. A clearer red you'd not wish to see

It is easy to watch something and see the decisions could maybe be different. I think the DOGSO RC is the only decision you could come up with for the goalkeeper and when you send players off for other things then you are going to be under the whataboutery conundrum with that. Looked a good game, but no doubts the referee could have handled themselves a lot more differently.

At least we know your New Year’s resolution of telling it how it is is going to plan
No good sitting on the fence!

Yes, I think it say's a lot more about me than the women's game as such
I just couldn't picture myself on the receiving end of dissent and stick from women half my age. All my usual verbal skills that keep me in good stead with the 'men' would probably be a disaster with women. It's me that's the problem, not the women

The non-DOGSO was ridiculous
The Referee subsequently let his emotions get the better of him. He got pissed off with them. We've all been there. Generally, I Referee better when I'm is a good mood/place because I respond much more positively to challenging behaviour from players. I was in a bad mood for one game this season which resulted in a day to forget

That looks nailed on DOGSO red to me, even from his angle. The attacker was definitely shooting into an open net. A very bizarre decision.
As for the other cards, I'd be distancing myself from the players there rather than hanging about to argue it.
Bet his score was 60.0000001 though 😄

Saw this challenge from both angles, this one is much closer to the referees angle and I’m guessing he went yellow because of direction and defenders?

I think I could justify both yellow and red to an assessor. Welcome any thoughts because I’ll get asked about this one on my next WNL game

I’ve just come across this and I don’t have any interest in the two reds for what I’d imagine for OFFINABUS. I only saw the highlights and unless I had watched the full game, I couldn’t make a fair judgement based on the short clips in the actual game highlights.

However, that is one of the clearest RC for DOGSO I’ve seen. I’m slightly worried that the referees above are on the fence between a YC and a RC.

It meets all the criteria for DOGSO. Plain as day. It seems the referees of the game allowed the previous decisions to cloud his judgement. I refuse to believe he thought that was a yellow card, even in real time.
