We're clearly not the worst...

But it's obvious being at the games that it is a tactic we use, and use well, to make sure opponents can't break on us quickly.
 
Jon Moss allowed Wolves to stand on every quick free kick Utd attempted to take last night.
Why wouldn't teams act this way?
 
Am seeing it more and more in the higher level youth games here as everyone seeks to emulate the 'Pep-way' ... even so far as to have an almost rotation of players who will take it in turns should us refs cotton on to what the plan is
 
Hasn't anyone noticed that a foul in opponent's hlaf mean it's less likely to be tactical!

It is less likely to be considered as SPA. And that is why it is tactical.
Even a careless foul that stops a promising attack should be cautioned so its a hedging of bets that the referee wont recognise the intent of SPA.
 
Easiest yellow card to spot in the book... Just do your job and don’t worry what they think...

The article starts with this quote: "All our offensive moments of attacking ended in a foul. You can look at the statistics." All the stats in the article refer to fouls in opponent half. I doubt he means fouls in his own half.
