Smart Watch Match Reporting

Bumped an old thread (Sorry @Ross , used to forums where people get angry if there's another thread about a similar topic and it's not bumped)

Basically just wanted to ask those who do use smartwatches in game, which app do you find best? RefLive, RefSix, or something else?

My wife spoiled me and bought me an Apple Watch for Christmas (I used to have one until some financial difficulties meant I had to sell it), and was playing around a mock match around the house with RefLive, and thought it might do the job once I get comfortable with it (hence the mock match)

So, pretty much in response to @Ross in the old thread
"REFSIX is my app of choice at the moment, works a treat"

What to you makes it a treat to use? I'm guessing obviously would be a benefit to upgrade to Pro within the app?

The free version works just fine, but I like the big timers and the stats the pro version gives you.

Yes, I think the stats is the main thing tempting me to subscribe.

Considering season doesn't start until April here, I might give them both little trial runs around the house / pre-season matches, etc and see how it goes.

I like Refsix a lot, the only thing stopping me using it more is the fact that my watch is getting a bit old and doesn't always have the bettery life to make it through a full game.

I do like RefSix. A lot of people say it looks bad when you add cautions on your watch, so I’m contemplating just doing cards the old fashioned way. It’s great though - there are different timers depending on what you like (counting up/down, etc), and the stoppage time feature works perfectly. The match stats are very useful and the new feature which shows your sprint map is interesting

I tried refsix, but just couldn't get on with it.

One problem is that some of my leagues don't have team sheets, only a list of subs, and another is that I find it easier to write in a notebook, rather than squinting at my watch.

I also had a few occasions where my watch died loosing the match record.

However, it's horses for courses, and as the technology and software improve then it will get better

I use the referee watch app on my garmin, but it is for time only, not record keeping. (It does do GPS tracking, too.) I personally don't see the point of messing around with the watch for score or cautions. it takes so little time to write, I can't imagine it being faster on a watch app.

So I sat down for Friday night A-League and set up the match, and basically entered on the watch as the match went along to see how it went. I do think the RefSix interface is a lot better than RefLive. Only issue I had was using the keypad (rather than the scrolly pick a player option), was entering in the wrong number for a sub coming on (27 instead of 21), but at least the match is editable afterwards once you import on the watch to fix that

I’ve developed the hReferee App in the Garmin store. It means I can get it to fit my needs. I added a Sin Bin timer over the summer. Also with Garmin, you can add information to the recording file, including scores and cautions.

Yeah, that's what I said I did.

Still trying to decide whether I want to use the keypad or the scroller though. I feel like the keypad works better, except when you put the wrong number in (Whoops)

Anyone using RefSix: Do you know how to limit substitutions? Or create a template where players can't go back on the field?
