Rise in headed goals...

The Referee Store
I think heading is a dying art, players today are generally very poor headers of a football. The proper heading i refer to is the straining of neck muscles header that comes back with interest.. Great exponents are currently Andy Carroll and formerly Duncan Ferguson, Peter Withe, Andy Gray etc.
Cant really name many players still playing that do it well.

Bit biased but Brian Deane was an excellent header of a football, not too shabby on the floor too for a big lad!!
I don't remember Crookes heading ability TBF, he sounds like a bit of a bafoon these days on the TV when he spouts up!!
Hurts me to say it but Brian will remember Lee Chapman, he was decent in the air!!!

As much as I loathe Tottingham, Crooks' bullet headers were a treasured memory of the early eighties for me. Amazing Spurs team too. I secretly wanted to be Glenn Hoddle as much as Terry McDermott!
