Red card violent conduct

Just posting as this has never happened to me in an u18 girls match.
Team scores their 8th goal, defending player then stamps on one player, is obviously then surrounded by players and lots of pushing and shoving, she then throws a punch and connects fully with another player.

Obviously red card for violent conduct, I also gave a yellow card to a player for aggression to the main instigator of the squaring up.

My only regret was not sending off the assistant manager for demanding the red card, but again I felt I had done enough.

I’ve never seen violence in u18 girls matches. What experience to you have?

Well done for everything you did which sounds right from your description.

What makes you think this is a red card offence?

He came onto the pitch and demanded it. That’s why. I was trying to not escalate the situation and just told him to back away, but I know I could have sent him off.

I do struggle when things like this happen. Usually with boys matches there are punches flying everywhere, and I can’t keep up with who did what especially without AR support.

In this case, one punch was thrown and it all stopped.

Don't forget the extraordinary report for the further violent conduct after the sending off offence has already been committed.

Fair enough. Your call and sounds like it would have been a deserved red card. Mistake made but take the positive out of it, you have reflected on it and more likely to take correct action if it happens next time.

This sounds quite concerning...

There are probably refs on here who have never dealt with violent conduct or mass cons, your comment implies you have had several games where violent conduct has occured 😲

U18 boys with a lot of testosterone flying around.

Only had a couple and it’s not a mass brawl, but a few boys throwing punches.
From experience, it’s always one player who is on the other side of the pitch and runs 50 yards to throw a punch.
Thankfully not had many.

Had one on my 3rd match. U15s. Just a nasty game to referee that had me thinking why I ever had the crazy idea of wanting to do this referee stuff. I wasn't strong enough at the time and they knew it.

It’s tough when you’re on your own with no support from a neutral AR.
You can only see what you see and deal with it. Everyone will feel hard done by as you missed so and so doing xyz.
I now enjoy the tougher matches. Even when it goes too far as I have mentioned in another thread where I got abused, but I had huge support on here and from my league and FA.

Thankfully punch ups aren’t too common in my matches.
