Questions about first Match

Hi all,

I have my first game tomorrow, very excited! Just have a few questions about the order of pre-match stuff.
Questions along the lines of:
• Do I do pitch inspection after introducing myself to managers?
• If I introduce myself to managers as I arrive do I ask them then if they have anyone I could give the flags to, and from here do they just take them and I talk to the chosen assistants before kick off?
• What time (when) to talk to assistants before kick off?
• For the team sheets, my league says 15 minutes before, is this usually given to me in the changing rooms (which this club has) or if I’m on the pitch do I go and put them into my bag in the changing rooms after noting the subs down? Basically where should I usually end up 15 minutes before K.O, assuming I get there 45 mins before.
• This might be a silly question, but for rolling subs (I know on my league I have to write down who has come on) do I ask the number who’s coming on or just wait for the player to turn around?

As for offsides and club assistants being wrong, I’m not sure on my first game I will be worrying much about where I am positioned to see offsides as wrong so not sure how confident I feel in overuling offsides unless obviously wrong and I can see that.

Thanks for any responses!

Enjoy your first game.
On arrival at the ground introduce yourself to the home team manager, and the away manager if they have arrived.
Inspect the field of play.
Ask both managers to send their cub assistant referees to you ten minutes before kick off. Give instructions and flags to both jointly.
When you have recorded the subs names and numbers, keep the team sheets in your bag.
Ensure that you take out all you need - match record card, pens or pencils, coin, whistles, match ball, watch(es).
Check the nets again immediately before the coin toss.
With subs coming on, tick your list when they first come on, as competition rules may mean they can/cannot play in a competition later in the season if they take part in the game.
Let us know how it goes 😁

One thing you haven't included in the schedule is your warm up. A good amount of time doing stretches etc. I also do one quick walk around the pitch and check the safety and positioning of the goals while doing that walk. Then check the pitch for safety issues and report any concerns to the home side. Also you should check footwear and essential equipment - I do this when the teams are warming up. I hope you had a great game.
