See video from 1:35. I’ve just come back from this relegation battle with Roger East as referee. Keeper struggling for a minute or so after kicking the ball, and when he attempts to put it out of play the Scunthorpe player stops it on the touchline, then chips it over him to make it 2-2. Cue Mass confrontation including dug outs (unfortunately not shown in the video) but this led to no bookings, including for the Scunthorpe keeper who ran 60 yards to push a couple of players. Incredible scenes

Ooh, cheeky that...

Would this not count as a serious enough injury to just whistle for?

If the GK signals they are injured then stop play. It’s the easiest drop ball restart. Check the time because you know it’s going to be a long break of 2 plus mins probably, which makes it easy to add on time and not to have to factor in time wasting, whatever level you are at.

Exactly, there's no need to wait until the goalkeeper has thrown it out, just a waste of time and more opportunity for things to go wrong.

While I agree that you should generally be stopping play for pretty much any injury to the GK, I might be missing something from that video. It looks more to me like he's gesturing to his shoelace?

He was injured kicking the ball about a minute before hand. Spent the next minute jumping around on it before that moment, and then was subsequently substituted

Ah, fair enough then. I wouldn't be getting involved based purely what's in the video, but it shouldn't take much when the GK's involved
