True but for all the referee knows the attacker could have snatched the ball out of the keeper's hands and thrown it into the goal.I don't see any offence by the attacker there, the keeper has just run into him and dropped the ball.
Even more simply he has to see it first.Very simply the ref has to decide if this is an accidental coming together or a challenge for the ball.
I feel it's a much easier sell for the referee to award the goal with the explanation "sorry lads, I didn't see it" than to guess the decision as he clearly has.Even more simply he has to see it first.And that's very hard to do if he is not looking at it.
