As part of the 2024/25 mid-season promotion process, on-field performance data from 1 January 2024 will be utilised alongside the LOTG and online modules completed between 1 August 2024 – 31 December 2024.

Anyone in with a chance? What do people think of the mid season promotion route? Personally I think it is a very positive development.

There is also the CORE Centre Leader - Assessment Day Invitation Clause to consider.

All match officials selected to attend a mid-season assessment day will be notified by 6pm on Thursday 9th January.
Best of luck to everyone who is chosen.

I was successful last year at the mid season assessment day in achieving 4-3 promotion, so I'm naturally going to say it's great.

The only thing is, those successful begin operating at their new level from 1st February, but given that a lot of Feb appointments will have been made before promotion is confirmed, they only get a couple of Feb appointments. This means it's no longer really mid-season! But that doesn't really matter.

It takes away some of the luck involved in getting the right observers on the right games as you don't need to be right at the very top for consideration and can prove yourself in other ways.

Note to all: We've already done the discussion around selection for the assessment days and whether it allows the FA to be selective for certain reasons many many times. I don't think this thread needs to descend in to it also.

Seconded.

One thing to remember on the Mid-Season promotions - that "half-year" is your "freebe" so you need to get to speed quickly..

Indeed, and if my observations this season reflected my marks after my promotion last season, I wouldn't be remaining a L3 for very long! Fortunately my 2 so far this season have been much better! (well one a little better, one much better)

Which Lv 4 referee pool where you on RefereeX if you don't mind me asking? Also, my apologies if there's been multiple discussions previously around selection for the assessment days; I wasn't aware of that.

The discussion around the assessment days wasn't the problem, it was what the discussions tended to descend in to, don't worry about that!

I was operating on the United Counties League - I can't remember what the referee pool was called, something like 'mid counties east'
