Level 7 Referee
Just a question how to work as an assistant ref cause there is almost zero assistan ref need in grasroots so how to take part as a assistant in higher levels

You can get in touch with a local Step 5/6 league and see if they will have you. Alternatively, if you have any local feeder leagues (Step 7), they usually have assistants as well.

I think in the East Riding there are no leagues appointing assistant referees below the Northern Counties East Football League (Step 5/6). This league normally takes recommendations from your county FA for assistant referees, so you could contact your RDO about that.

For AR appointments below NCEFL, but requiring more travel from your location, would be the top divisions in the North Riding Football League, Lincolnshire Football League, West Yorkshire Association Football League and Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League.

how for to the east are you? I would have some contracts in York and Leeds if helpful
I am in Hull the thing is I cant see a future in here cause I believe in our area we kinda stuck in the amateur level thats why I asked any advice from refs from small towns like mine

If you can travel across the Humber Bridge that could be your likeliest option for AR appointments. The Lincolnshire Football League Premier Division includes North Lincs sides Barton Town, Crowle Colts, Immingham Town, Grimsby Borough and Cleethorpes Town.

A step higher on the Northern Counties East there is Driffield, Goole, Selby, Barton, Brigg, Bottesford Town, Appleby Frodingham.

It is rather unfortunate that promotion to Level 6 and 5 now requires AR appointments but your county-level football doesn't appoint ARs.

Any east riding officials able to signpost, please?
@CaptainsPlease Since the East Riding gave up it's supply league status around 5 years ago, the lowest level of football with assistants in Hull is the NCEL div 1.

@cancan You should talk to your RDO to see if they can get you nominated to the AR list. Normally it will be people on the promotion pathway, but I know they are always needing more. Travel wise, there are ER clubs or you could join a ER referee to travel together to other matches.

Also West Yorks league is a supply league, so ER will travel over to the Leeds area for the matches.

Hope this helps?
