The accepted belief is that the 1930 World Cup final used two completely different footballs. One selected by the hosts (Uruguay) and another selected and favoured by Argentina.
The 'Argentina' ball was used in the first half and at half time, they led 2-1. The 'Uruguay' ball was used in the second and the hosts came back to win 4-2. It's not known if the losers stormed off and took their ball home with them.
