Head injury?

The Ref Stop
Head injuries are no different in procedure than any other injury.
In most cases players aren't supposed to receive treatment on the pitch.
But it does depend how the (head) injury occurred.
If it was the result of a reckless or excessive force action from an opponent and they receive a yellow or red card they can stay on if treatment is donevquickly (20-25s from when everyone is ready to restart).
Otherwise, yes, they must leave.

I'm confused by this question. Your OP said:

Post treatment on the pitch

There's no difference. If the teams appointed physio/Dr/medical personnel/ bucket and sponge enter the field then read my first reply. If you are still unsure then this is covered in law 5. 👍🏻

Thanks James. watching games at western league level well head injuries are not treated the same. Players get the just get on with it from sponge man and refs just carry on with players not leaving the pitch.

With L4's officiating I'm finding that difficult to believe. (No offence).

Perhaps what you actually saw was the ref permitting the player to remain on the field because he'd cautioned the offending player and the treatment was completed "quickly". As James points out, the LOTG state "20-25 secs" after the ref has finished his disciplinary procedure etc. but few (if any) referees will stand there and time it on their watch. ;)
