I started refereeing in October last year and began refereeing U12 9 v 9 games and didn't join my local referees association due too a lack of time. I will start refereeing 11 v 11 games at the start of the new season probably U14 games and join my local referees association. I am 16 years old. At what point should I start looking at trying to get promoted. What age did you guys get promoted?

Firstly, you will have to be at least 16 on March 1st if would like to apply for promotion for the promotion season, which runs from March to March. You will also need to referee open age games, which may be something you will have to consider. Something that happened to me was that some of the leagues I contacted told me I was too young to do the adult games! However, once you get out there, I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than youth games. I'm sure someone else will add to this, but if you want to know anything else, just let me know
