Dundee Utd call for VAR reform after withdrawing from incident review panel

I think it’s disappointing for the club to withdraw because imo its always best to be involved in a process rather than out of it, but on the other hand, I can understand where they are coming from. When on field decisions are made by Referees, be it the Referee or VAR, and the KMI’s then reviewed by ex players, ex coaches, ex managers etc, albeit with a representative advising on the Laws of the Game, there will always be some conflict. However, if the panels are largely represented by a panel of ex Referees, that may not go down well either. I have to say, I don’t know what the answer is because clubs will always complain when a decision affects them - usually even if the decision is correct, or not a clear & obvious error.

It's not a foul, but the game expects a foul. I'd expect an experienced referee to referee according to expectation
Whether VAR should've have reversed this decision is a poser typical of VAR controversy. A controversy that is massively ramped up by the existence of VAR and a problem that cannot and will never be fixed

I think it was announced yesterday that in the English game there has been 12 deemed incorrect MCS so far this season, but nevertheless a percentage of deemed correct decisions to 97. something per cent - a slight increase from this time last season (96.something per cent). That has to count for something (positive).

I don't care much for stats derived by the body the stats represent.
Even when based on objective (factual) data, it's usually possible to misrepresent the data to fit any agenda. And VAR stats will mostly be based on controversial subjectivity in the first place
